Modern day slavery
Today all around the world there is slavery. Slavery may have been abolished in the 19th century but some how it still exists today, in many different forms. Around the world there are about 30 million men, women and children that are physically slaves. Slaves in the 21st century are sold like objects and are victims of forced labor where they work for little pay or no pay, at all. Slavery is being hidden away in factories, farms, homes, and behind closed doors.

Slavery is different from other human right violations, some things that make it different are:
- Forced labor
- Owned or controlled by employer
- Treated as objects
- Has restrictions
In almost every nation slavery is illegal however it is exists everywhere. Slavery can occur in large portions where thousands are trapped at once such as in factories or it can occur in a smaller scale where a girl may be sold and sexually harassed. Children's as young as five can be victims of slavery.
Where does slavery occur the most?

Walk Free Foundation had released a Global Slavery Index describing slavery, forced labor, debt bondage, human trafficking and child marriage across 162 countries. According to the Index Mauritania, Haiti and Pakistan have the highest prevalence of slavery. Mauritania has 160,000 people enslaved out of a population of 3.8 million people causing the country to have the highest portion of people in slavery in the world. Haiti has a high level of child marriage, human trafficking and child slavery. India has the 14,700,000 people enslaved following being is Pakistan with 2.2 million people enslaved.
What types of slavery exist today?
Forced Labor - Work or services people are forced to do against their own will. Forced labor apply to many different types of slavery.
Debt Bondage - This method of slavery is used the most for enslaving people. When someone is not able to pay a loan they are demanded to do labor in order to repay the loan. They person tend to be tricked and having to work for very little or even no pay. Sometimes the debts gets passed on to the next generation, if the loan is not payed completely.
Human Trafficking - People are transported away from where they live to different communities where they are forced to work against their will, often leading to violence and deception.
Early And Forced Marriage - If a individual, does not, willingly enter into a marriage then it is called forced or servile marriage.
Child Slavery - The use of children's when others make profit from that. Many are forced to work day and night for little to no pay.
Descent Based Slavery - Situation in which people are born into slaver, class, caste or a group which is viewed as being in slavery by other members from their society.
